If it disturbs you, it's art.
If it inhabits your dreams
And questions your fears,
it's art.
If it lifts you up in some
sort of emotional epiphany
or throws your preconceptions
to the ground, trust us, it's art.
Because art, if you know how
to look for it, is everywhere.
It's in the building you just
walked by without noticing.
It's on the fashion models
and mannequins, on the
billboards and the bus shelters,
It's on every TV channel and
inside every magazine, it's
beside the tree in the park over
there by the fence post only
you don't see it yet. Which is
exactly where we come in.
The Academy of Art University
exists for one purpose only:
to give birth to artists of
passion and commitment.
To inspire classroom after
classroom, generation after
generation, of visionaries and
filmmakers, designers, modern
revolutionaries and hopeful
romantics, anyone who refuses
to look at things the same old,
uninspired way.
Our only commodity
is art. And there is
no higher commodity
than that.
So we spend every waking
moment -- okay, maybe even
some of the sleeping ones --
with and overwhelming passion
to motivate and stimulate
and encourage. To show that
talent is contagious. And
around here, it's catching.
See, at the Academy of Art
University we believe
inspiration comes out of
every street corner, every
traffic stop, every classroom
that challenges you, every
teacher that hands you a
key, every blank canvas,
every empty wall, every
bolt of fabric or empty
computer screen.
Every day in San Francisco
inspires us; every day the
Academy of Art University
inspires San Francisco
in kind.
Which is why everywhere
we look, we see artists.
Artists who refuse
You Can't and create
Yes, you canArtists who hear Mundane
and think Magical.
Artists and teachers and
professionals who think
art is a kind of salvation. An open door policy that
expects nothing less than
one hundred percent
passion commitment
combined with a thousand
percent open-minded-
enthusiastic-I-want-to-
create-something-gorgeous-
or-brilliant-or-insanely-
wonderful desire.
Inside our classrooms and
outside our walls we breathe
eat drink
dream art. We see
it in the craziest places.
We create it when no one
else is looking. We throw
our passion against the wall
and see what sticks.
A man once said great art is
either plagiarism or revolution.
We say let the revolution begin.--Academy of Art University

This place?
Inspiring.
It's from a booklet I received from the AAU (obviously).
Phew. Second thing I got that's stunned me this much, from a college.
The first thing I got was a catalog, showing off one of the schools, programs, etc. And it was also from AAU.
They don't /just/ teach art here. Well, they do, but they also have sports, just like any college, which I found really shocking!
Did I mention they have a former Olympic fencer for a fencing instructor? Soooo cool. Even if I'm not interested in fencing at all, that is so neat.

Well, in other news.
My scanner's broken.
But I have a camera.
Also, I fell quite ill Saturday afternoon.
And this morning, after I got out of the shower, for the first time in my life, I actually passed out. Walking to my room, my legs and body just said "/no" to me.
The good news is, I'm feeling much, much, better now.

Let's see, what else?
Oh..I really need a job.
I can do paypal commissions and everything now too, although I'm sure no one would be interested in a commission.
Sooo, off to conceptart.org
Oh, and after this play thing at my school is over, and I don't have rehearsal after school and stuff, I'll be applying for a job at McDonalds, and Taco Bell.
I hate fast food.

Otherwise, that's pretty much it.
Aidos.
